Gardaí attached to the Limerick Divisional Drugs Unit, assisted by other regional and local units, conducted an operation in Limerick city today, Tuesday 22nd September 2026 as part of investigations into the sale and supply of drugs in the region.
A domestic residence was searched under warrant as part of the operation. As a result, four firearms were seized, along with ammunition, suspected cannabis edibles to the estimated value of over €127,000, suspected cocaine to the estimated value of €4,500 and a quantity of cash.
The firearms seized will be subject to further technical analysis. The drugs seized will be forwarded to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for analysis.
A man in his 60s was arrested and conveyed to a Garda Station in Limerick city. He is currently being detained under the provisions of Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.
Investigations are ongoing.
