Earlier today, Sunday 20th September 2026, the Garda National Immigration Bureau (GNIB) of An Garda Síochána carried out an operation removing individuals from the State on foot of Immigration Orders.
This operation resulted in the removal of forty-three (43) Georgian Nationals, consisting of thirty-three adult males, seven (7) adult females and three (3) minors on foot of Immigration Orders issued by the Minister for Justice, Home Affairs and Migration.
Forty-two (42) of the returnees were removed on foot of Deportation Orders issued by the Minister pursuant to the Immigration Act, 1999; and one adult male was removed on foot of a Return Decision issued by the Minister pursuant to the newly enacted International Protection Act, 2026.
All individuals were removed on a chartered flight which left Dublin earlier today for Georgia; arriving this evening, Sunday, 20th September 2026.
Four (4) adult males removed from the State under this operation had been convicted of offences in this jurisdiction, and their removal supports ongoing operations by An Garda Síochána nationwide.
An Garda Síochána continues to work closely with the Department of Justice in implementing immigration policy and the Irish Prison Service in the implementation of these operations.
