Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal four-vehicle road traffic collision on the R688 at Cooper’s Lot, Cashel, Co. Tipperary on Monday 14th September 2026.
The collision, involving a van and three cars, occurred at approximately 5.40pm.
The male driver of one of the cars (aged in his 60’s) was pronounced deceased at the scene.
His body has been conveyed to the mortuary at University Hospital Waterford where a postmortem examination will take place in due course. The coroner has been notified.
The driver of the van (aged in his 40’s) was conveyed to Tipperary University Hospital Clonmel for treatment of serious injuries.
No other injuries were reported at the time.
The road is currently closed for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, with local diversions in place.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to come forward.
Road users who were travelling in the area of Cooper’s Lot, Cashel, Co. Tipperary between 5.00pm and 6.00pm on Monday 14th September 2026 and who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make it available to investigating Gardaí.
