A male (in his late 30s), has been arrested and charged this evening by An Garda Síochána in relation to Serious Organised Crime offences.
The male was arrested by Spanish authorities in Lanzarote on the 8th April 2026 on foot of a European Arrest Warrant issued by the Irish High Court. He has been extradited following a judicial process in Spain.
His extradition was carried out by Gardaí attached to the Extradition Unit, Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation (GNBCI), facilitated with logistical support of the Irish Air Corps.
The male will be brought before a special sitting of Dublin District Court at the Criminal Courts of Justice this evening, Thursday the 10th September 2026 at 7.00pm.
This male is the sixth person to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice on charges resulting from the criminal investigation conducted by the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
As this matter is now going before the courts An Garda Síochána is not making any further comment.
