02/09/2026 Joint Operation- An Garda Síochána and Revenue Customs Service Seize €1 million Cocaine, Cork Airport. 31st August, 2026.

Custom Officers assisted by the Cork City Divisional Drugs Unit stopped and searched a man at Cork Airport on the morning of Monday 31st August, 2026.

During the course of the stop and search, custom officers seized a number of packages of cocaine. The estimated street value of the seizure is €1 million.

The man, aged in his 30s, was arrested at the scene and was detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 in a Garda Station in Cork.

The seized drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for analysis.

The man has since been charged in relation to the seizure and is due to appear before Cork District Court this morning Wednesday 2nd September, 2026.
