As part of Operation Thor and the ongoing investigation into a number of burglaries in Co Westmeath, Gardaí this morning, Monday, 19th October, carried out searches in Mullingar.
One male has been arrested and is currently detained for questioning at a Garda Station in the midlands, under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
Gardai from the divisional crime units and the roads policing units in the Westmeath division have been, and will continue to conduct, rolling checkpoints in rural areas as part of the winter rollout of Operation Thor for the month of October.
Investigations are ongoing.
