Gardaí are currently at the scene of a fatal assault which occurred at Blackhorse Avenue, Dublin 7, in the early hours of Sunday 18th October 2026.
A male was discovered with serious injuries on the footpath at Blackhorse Place and conveyed from the scene to Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
The scene has been preserved for forensic examination by the Garda Technical Bureau. The Coroner and the Office of the State Pathologist have been notified and a post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course.
This investigation is being coordinated from an incident room at the Bridewell Garda Station under the direction of a Senior Investigating Officer.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward, particularly those who were in the Blackhorse Avenue/Blackhorse Place area or who may have video footage (including dash-cam) between 2:00am and 3:30am on the morning of Sunday 18th October 2026.
