Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic incident which occurred in Ballinrush, Kilworth, Co. Cork yesterday, Monday 23rd March 2026.
Gardaí and emergency services responded to a single vehicle incident which occurred shortly after 11:15am on the R639.
A male driver (aged in his 70s) was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Coroner has been notified and a post-mortem examination will take place in Cork University Hospital.
The scene underwent a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
Road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling on the R639 near Ballinrush, Kilworth, Co. Cork between 10:50am and 11:20am on Monday 23rd March 2026 are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
