Update – An Garda Síochána investigation into murder of Denis Donaldson, 4th April 2006

Gardaí in Donegal Division investigating the murder of Denis Donaldson have today, 30th March 2026, arrested a male (aged late 40s) following his extradition from Scotland on foot of a European Arrest Warrant.

The male will appear before the Special Criminal Court this afternoon.

The arrest was carried out with the assistance of An Garda Síochána Extradition Unit, Garda National Bureau of Investigation and the Irish Air Corps.

An Garda Síochána has no further comment at this time.
