Update (2): Discovery of the body of a Man, Cookstown, Dublin 24, 27th March 2026

An Garda Síochána continues to investigate all of the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body of a man (aged in his 50s) in Cookstown, Dublin 24, on Friday afternoon, 27th March 2026.

A post mortem examination of the deceased man has been completed. The preliminary results are not being released for operational reasons.

A woman (aged in her 50s) who was arrested in connection with this investigation has been released without charge. A file will now be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward and are seeking any available camera footage, including dashcam recordings, from anyone who was travelling in the area of the junction of Second Avenue and Cookstown Way, Cookstown, Dublin 24, between 10:00pm on Thursday, 26th March 2026, and 1:30pm on Friday, 27th March 2026.
