As part of the investigation into a serious assault that occurred on Athlunkard Street in Limerick city on Tuesday, 17th March 2026, Gardaí have arrested two males this afternoon, Thursday 19th March 2026.
Both males, aged in their 20s, are currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a Garda Station in the Limerick Division.
This brings the total number of arrests in connection with this investigation to three.
Another male (20s), was arrested on the 17th March 2026 and subsequently charged to appear before Limerick District Court this morning, Thursday 19th March 2026 at 10.30am.
The man (50s), who was injured during the incident remains in a serious condition in University Hospital Limerick.
