As part of a continuing investigation, the Cavan Drugs Unit searched an additional property in Cavan town on Friday 6th March 2026.
During the search of this second property, Gardaí discovered 7.8 kilograms of suspected cannabis with an estimated value of €156,000.
This brings the total value of the 2 seizures to €281,000.
The seized drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.
The male (aged in his 30s) who was arrested remains detained in a station in the Garda North Western Region under the provisions of Section 2 of Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
Investigations are ongoing.
