Update (1): Discovery of the body of a Man, Cookstown, Dublin 24, 27th March 2026

An Garda Síochána continues to investigate all of the circumstances following the discovery of the body of a man (aged in his 50’s) in Cookstown, Dublin 24, on Friday afternoon, 27th March 2026.

A post mortem examination of the deceased man has concluded, the results of which are not being released for operational reasons.

A woman (aged in her 50’s), arrested in connection with the investigation, is currently detained pursuant to Section 4 of the Criminal Justice act 1984, at a Garda station in the Dublin area.

  Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them and are seeking any available camera footage - including dashcam recordings from those who were travelling in the vicinity of the junction of Second Avenue and Cookstown Way, Cookstown, Dublin 24 between 10:00pm on Thursday 26th March 2026 and 1:30pm on Friday afternoon, 27th March 2026.
