Gardaí attached to the Divisional Drugs Unit in Cork City seized €200,000 worth of suspected cannabis and arrested a woman in Glanmire, Cork on 28th of February 2026.
In an operation in conjunction with Gardaí from the Eastern Region, a car was stopped and searched at Glanmire. Ten kilos of cannabis – with an estimated street value of €200,000 – was seized and a woman aged in her 40s was arrested. She was detained at a Garda station in the Southern Region under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
She was subsequently charged and is scheduled to appear before Cork District Court today, 2nd March 2026 at 10:30am. The seized drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis. Investigations are ongoing.
