Operation Tara – Over €700,000 Drugs Seized, Two Arrests in Dublin, 28th February 2026

As part of ongoing investigations targeting the sale and supply of drugs in the Dublin Region, Gardaí seized drugs worth in excess of €700k and arrested two individuals in the course of an operation in Dublin City on Saturday, 28th February 2026.

Shortly after 3:30pm, Gardaí attached to the Drugs Unit at Coolock intercepted a car in the Dublin 1 area and recovered cannabis valued at €100,000. A male aged in his 20s was arrested at the scene.

During follow-up searches at two residential properties in the Dublin 1 area, Gardaí seized cannabis valued at €551,000, cocaine valued at €70,000 and two sums of cash - £33,000 sterling and in excess of €4,000 euro. A second male aged in his 30s was also arrested.

Both are currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at a Garda station in the Dublin region.

All drugs seized are subject to analysis will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for examination.
