Operation Tara: Gardaí seize €100 thousand of Cannabis Herb, Limerick city, Thursday 5th March 2026

Gardaí from the Divisional Drugs Unit based at Henry Street Garda Station carried out a search of a vehicle in Limerick city on Thursday 5th March 2026 at approximately 6:30 pm.

During the course of this search Cannabis Herb to the estimated street value of €100,000 was seized.

A man in his 20s was arrested and conveyed to a Garda Station in Limerick city. He is currently being detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

The drugs seized will be forwarded to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for analysis.

Investigations are ongoing.
