Joint Operation – Gardaí and Revenue Customs Seize €229,000 Cannabis and THC - Two Arrests, Lismore, Co. Waterford, 9th March 2026

As part of an intelligence-led operation involving the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB), Waterford County Drugs Unit and Revenue Customs Service, a total of €229,000 of suspected illegal cannabis and THC was seized today, Monday 9th March 2026, in Lismore, Co. Waterford.

Revenue Customs Officers seized 10.35 kg of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €207,000. Further products containing suspected THC, with an estimate value of €22,000, were seized by An Garda Síochána in a follow-up search.

One male (aged in his 40’s) and one female (aged in her 30’s), were arrested in connection with the investigation. They are currently detained pursuant to Section 2 of Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996, at a Garda Station in Co Waterford.

The seized drugs are now subject to analysis by Forensic Science Ireland.

Investigations are ongoing.
