As part of an intelligence-led operation, Revenue officers seized 20kg of suspected illegal cannabis with an estimated value of €400,000 today, Friday 13th March 2026, in Co. Kildare.
The joint operation was conducted by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB), Kildare South Divisional Drugs Unit and Revenue’s Customs Service.
The seized drugs are now subject to analysis by Forensic Science Ireland.
A male (aged in his 40’s) was arrested by An Garda Síochána in connection with the investigation, and is currently detained pursuant to Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996, at a Garda Station in Co. Kildare.
Investigations are ongoing.
