Arrest – Investigation into Murder of Eoin McCarthy in 2005

Gardaí investigating the murder of Eoin McCarthy (27) of Ashwood Park, Clondalkin, Dublin 22, have arrested a man (40s) in relation to this investigation this evening, Wednesday 11th March 2026.

The man is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a Garda Station in the Eastern Region.

Eoin McCarthy’s remains were found on 4th November 2005 in Ballinagee, Hollywood, Co. Wicklow.

Investigations are ongoing.

An Garda Síochána has no further comment at this time.
