Arrest - Fatal Assault, Lower John Street / Knapps Square / Devonshire Street in Cork City, 16th March, 2026.

Gardaí investigating the fatal assault that occurred on Lower John Street / Knapp's Square / Devonshire Street in Cork city on Monday evening 16th March 2026 have made an arrest.

A man, aged in his 40s, was arrested this morning in relation to this investigation.

He is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station in Cork City.
