Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision on the N72 near Calfmount, Barraduff, Co. Kerry on Wednesday 24th June 2026.
The single vehicle collision involved a car and occurred at approximately 2:20am.
An adult male driver (aged in his 20s) was pronounced deceased at the scene.
His body has been removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Kerry where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
The coroner has been notified.
The road is currently closed pending examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
Local diversions are in place. Motorists travelling between Rathmore and Killarney are asked to travel via Glenflesk.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed this collision to come forward.
Road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the N72 near Calfmount, Barraduff, Co. Kerry on Wednesday 24th June 2026 between 1:45am and 2:20am are asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí.
