Gardaí in Glanmire responded to reports of a stolen vehicle in a industrial estate in Glanmire this afternnon Monday 22nd June, 2026 at approximately 2.20pm.
On arrival at the scene, the occupants of the stolen car rammed an official Garda patrol vehicle. In the course of the vehicle being rammed a Garda member was injured during the incident. She was removed from the scene to Cork University Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. No other injuries were sustained by Garda members during the incident.
The occupants of the stolen car fled the scene on foot.
In a follow up search of the scene, two adult males were arrested and are currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station in the Southern Region.
Gardaí are asking for anyone with information in relation to this incident to contact them.
Any persons who were in the Glanmire industrial estate this afternoon Monday 22nd June, 2026 between 1.30pm and 3pm and who may have camera footage (including mobile phone and dash-cam) is asked to contact investigating Gardaí.
