The man (40s) arrested as part of the investigation into the serious assault which took place on Main Street Port Arlington, Co. Laois on Sunday 7th June 2026, has been charged.

He is due to appear before Portlaoise District Court at approximately 2:00pm this afternoon, Monday 8th June 2026.

The injured party remains in critical condition.
