20/07/2026 Witness Appeal - Discharge of Firearm, Ballinacurra Weston, Limerick, 19th July 2026

Gardaí are investigating all the circumstances in relation to the discharge of a firearm at a residence on Hyde Avenue, Ballinacurra Weston, Limerick, on Sunday 19th July 2026.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene following report of the incident, which occurred at approximately 4:30pm.

A male aged in his 60s was conveyed to University Hospital Limerick to be treated for serious injuries. His condition is described as stable.

The scene is currently preserved for technical examination.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward.

Any person who was in the vicinity of the Hyde Road, Ballinacurra Weston area on the afternoon of Sunday 19th July 2026 between 3.45pm and 4.45pm and who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) is asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
