Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a fatal road traffic collision on the R680 at Adamstown, Kilmeaden, Co. Waterford on Monday 6th July, 2026. The collision involved two cars and occurred shortly before 1.50pm.
A male driver (aged in his 60s) was pronounced deceased at the scene.
His body was conveyed to the mortuary at University Hospital Waterford where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
The coroner has been notified. No other injuries were reported at the scene. The road was closed and an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators took place. The road has since reopened.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward. Road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the R680 at Adamstown, Kilmeaden, Co. Waterford between 1pm and 2pm on Monday 6th July 2026 are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
