Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a fatal single vehicle road traffic collision at Drumsillagh, Tullyvin, Co. Cavan yesterday morning, Sunday 5th July 2026.
The collision involved a motorcycle and occurred at approximately 10:50am.
The motorcyclist, a man aged in his 70s, was removed from the scene by paramedics before being airlifted to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin where he was pronounced deceased late yesterday evening.
The road was closed to allow examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. It has since reopened.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.
Road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 10:00am and 11:00am on Sunday 5th July 2026 are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
