Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a fatal road traffic collision at Kinnego Cross, Ballymagan, Co. Donegal on Saturday 4th July 2026.
The collision involved two cars and occurred shortly before 9:10pm.
An adult male driver (aged in his 20s) was pronounced deceased at the scene.
His body has been conveyed to the mortuary at Letterkenny University Hospital where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course. A Garda Family Liaison Officer (FLO) has been appointed to support the family of the deceased.
The coroner has been notified.
An adult male passenger (aged in his 20s) of the first car was conveyed to Letterkenny University Hospital for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life threatening at the time.
An adult male driver of the second car (aged in his late teens) and a female passenger (aged in her late teens) were conveyed to Letterkenny University Hospital for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life threatening at the time.
The road is currently closed pending examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
Local diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.
Road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling near Kinnego Cross, Ballymagan, Co. Donegal between 8:30pm and 9:15pm on Saturday 4th July 2026 are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
