Gardaí are continuing to seek the public's assistance in tracing the whereabouts of 72-year-old Jeremiah Downing, who was reported missing from his home in Sneem, Co. Kerry, on Thursday 1st January 2026.
Jeremiah was reportedly last seen on the N70 road between Castlecove and Sneem at approximately 5pm on Wednesday 31st of December 2025.
Jeremiah is described as being over 6 feet in height, with a medium build. He has grey hair and blue eyes.
When last seen, Jeremiah was wearing dark clothing, including a brown jacket and dark trousers.
Jeremiah is also known to frequent the Castlecove area of Co. Kerry.
Due to a recent medical incident, Gardaí and Jeremiah’s family are very concerned for his well-being.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who travelled on the N70 road between Castlecove and Sneem from 3pm onwards on Wednesday 31st of December 2025 and who may have dash-cam footage or saw a pedestrian to contact them.
Gardaí are also appealing to farmers and landowners in the area to check any sheds, outbuildings or other remote buildings on their lands.
