Operation Thor – Two Men Arrested Following Searches in Carlow and Dublin, Thursday 22nd January 2026

As part of Operation Thor and the ongoing investigation into a number of incidents in the Dublin Region and across the wider country in 2025, Gardaí have arrested two individuals on Thursday 22nd January 2026.

This investigation took in over 40 incidents, including thefts, deception and unauthorised takings of vehicles.

Five premises were searched in the Dublin and Carlow Regions and two men have been arrested.  These searches were conducted by members attached to the DMR South Central Crime Task Force.

The men, both aged in their 20s, are currently detained under the provisions of Section 50 Criminal Justice Act 2007 at a Garda Station in Dublin.

Investigations are ongoing.
