Operation Tara – Arrests and Seizure of Over €310,000 Drugs, Bruree, Co. Limerick and Charleville, Co. Cork, 2nd January 2026

As part of ongoing investigations into the sale and supply of drugs in the region, members of Limerick Divisional Drugs Unit have arrested two people and seized in excess of €310,600 of suspected illegal drugs during searches in Bruree, Co. Limerick and Charleville, Co. Cork, on the evening of Friday 2nd January 2026.

During the course of the search of a residence in Bruree, Co. Limerick, cannabis (€198,000), cocaine (€10,500), Xanax tablets (€79,252) and amphetamines (€4,350) were seized.

  At a follow-up search of a residence in Charleville, Co. Cork, cocaine (€17,500), cannabis (€1000), weighing scales and drugs paraphernalia were seized.

  A woman (aged in her 30’s) and a man (aged in his 40’s) were arrested in connection with the investigation and are currently detained pursuant to Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at a Garda Station in the Co. Limerick area.

The seized drugs are subject to analysis by Forensic Science Ireland.

  Investigations are ongoing.
