Over the course of a lengthy and complex investigation led by the GNECB Anti-Bribery and Corruption Unit and Gardaí from the Kildare Division as part of Operation Lakefront, ten individuals were arrested and questioned in connection with the case.
A file was subsequently submitted to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), who directed that a total of 178 charges be brought against four individuals arising from the investigation.
On the morning of 28th January 2026, four males—one in his 70s and three in their 40s—were arrested by GNECB members and charged at a Garda Station in the Dublin Region. All four are scheduled to appear before a sitting of Blanchardstown District Court at 10:30am.
