As part of an ongoing investigations targeting an organised crime group involved in drug trafficking and money laundering in the Dublin area, the Dublin Crime Response Team (DCRT) seized over €275,000 in cash during a search operation on Friday, 13th February 2026.
In thecourse of an operation, led by the DCRT with assistance from Gardaí attached to the South Central and DMR North Crime Functional Areas, a car was intercepted and stopped in the Ballsbridge area of Dublin 4. Inside the vehicle a suitcase containing €275,000 in cash was discovered.
The car’s sole occupant, a woman in her 30s, was arrested at the scene and is currently being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at a Garda station in the Dublin Region.
