As part of an ongoing operation targeting the sale and supply of drugs in the area, Gardaí from the Divisional Drugs Unit stopped and searched a vehicle seizing a quantity of cannabis in Cavan town on Tuesday 3rd February 2026.
Gardaí carried out a follow-up search under warrant at a location in Cavan town during which cannabis with an estimated value of €112,000 along with cocaine with an estimated value of €56,000 and over €12,000 in cash were seized.
A man (40s) and a woman (30s) were arrested and detained at a Garda Station in Co. Cavan.
The man has since been charged in relation to this investigation and is due to appear before Monaghan District Court today, Wednesday 4th February 2026 at 10:30am.
The female has since been released without charge and a file will be prepared for the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.
Investigations are ongoing.
