Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a serious injury road traffic collision that occurred on Battery Road, Longford, Co. Longford on Friday 28th August 2026.
Gardaí and emergency services responded to a report of a single vehicle collision involving an e-scooter at approximately 10:40pm.
A male adult driver (aged in his late teens) was conveyed to Regional Hospital Mullingar and subsequently Beaumont Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. He remains in a critical condition.
A female juvenile passenger (aged in her teens) was conveyed to Regional Hospital Mullingar for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life threatening at the time.
The road is currently closed pending technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
Local diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
Road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, and were travelling in the vicinity of Battery Road, Longford, Co. Longford between 10:15pm and 10:45pm on Friday 28th August 2026 are asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí.
