24/08/2026 Witness Appeal – Serious Injury Road Traffic Collision, Bodyke, Co. Clare, 23rd August, 2026

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a serious injury road traffic collision that occurred on the R352 at Bodyke, Co Clare on Sunday 23rd August, 2026.

Gardaí and emergency services responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision at around 11:40pm.

The single occupant of the car, a man in his 40s, was brought by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick for treatment of serious injuries and remains in a critical condition.

The scene has been preserved for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

The road is currently closed with local diversions in place.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.

Road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam footage and were travelling in the area of the R352 at Ballynahinch, Bodyke between 11:00pm and midnight on Sunday 23rd August, 2026 are asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí.
