09/08/2026 Witness Appeal Serious RTC on the N70 at Aghatubrid, Caherciveen, Co. Kerry. 9th August, 2026.

Gardaí in Killarney are investigating a serious road traffic collision that occurred on the N70 at Aghatubrid, Caherciveen, Co. Kerry in the early hours of this morning Sunday 9th August, 2026 at approximately 5am.

The collision involved a bus and a car.

The male driver of the car, aged in his 20s was seriously injured and has been transferred to University Hospital Cork. The driver of the bus, a man aged in his 50s was uninjured.

The road is currently closed and will be examined by the Garda Forensic Collision Investigators later this morning. Local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for any persons who may have witnessed this collision to come forward.

Gardaí are appealing to road users who were travelling on the N70 at Aghatubrid, Caherciveen between 4:30am and 5:00am this morning Sunday 9th August, 2026 and who may have dashcam footage of the incident or surrounding area to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
