As part of an ongoing investigation into organised criminal activity in the area, Gardaí in Co Cavan arrested three males today, 7th August 2026.
Gardaí are investigating assaults on two men at Cullyleenan, Ballyconnell, in Co. Cavan in the early hours of Sunday 2nd August 2026.
Two males (both aged in their 30s) were brought to Cavan General Hospital for treatment of serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
At around 5:20pm on Wednesday 5th August 2026 outside a commercial premises at Cullyleenan, a man aged in his 30s was assaulted. He was treated for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries at Cavan General Hospital.
As part of their investigations, Gardaí carried out a search and arrest operation today, Friday 7th August in West Cavan.
The operation involved 40 members from Cavan Community Engagement, Cavan Crime Function Area, supported by the Armed Support Unit.
Four addresses were searched and three men (aged in their 30s) were arrested.
They are being detained at stations in the Garda North Western Region under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
Investigations are ongoing.
