05/08/2026 Update - Discharge of Firearm, Ballinasloe, Co Galway, 3rd August 2026

Gardaí have arrested a man as part of their investigation into the discharge of a firearm at a residence in Dunlo, Ballinasloe, Co Galway, on Monday 3rd August 2026.

The man, aged in his 20s, is being detained at a station in the Garda North Western Region under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.

Investigations are ongoing.
