€1.2m Cocaine Seizure and Two Men Arrested following Searches in Dublin 11 and Dublin 15 - 17th September 2025

An Garda Síochána has seized approximately €1.2 million of cocaine and arrested two men following an operation conducted yesterday, Wednesday 17th September 2025.

As part of ongoing investigations under Operation Tara targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Dublin Metropolitan Region (DMR) West, Gardaí attached to the Finglas Drugs Unit with assistance from the Dublin Crime Response Team conducted a number of searches under warrant yesterday, Wednesday 17th September 2025. Additional support was provided by members across the DMR West Division and the Regional Armed Support Unit.

At a residence in Dublin 11, Gardaí seized approximately 12kg of suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of €840,000. A man in his 30s was arrested at the scene and detained at a Garda station in the DMR West under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

At another residence in Dublin 15, Gardaí seized approximately 5.5kg of suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of €375,000. A man in his 40s was arrested at the scene and also detained at a Garda station in the DMR West under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

Both men have since been charged and are due to appear before Blanchardstown District Court (Court No.1) this morning, Thursday 18th September 2025 at 10:30am.

The drugs seized will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.   Investigations are ongoing.
