Operation TARA: GNDOCB Conducts Targeted Operation Resulting in Two Arrests and Seizure of Over €260,000 – 4th October 2025

On Saturday, 4th October 2025, as part of ongoing investigations into organised crime under Operation TARA, members of the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) intercepted a vehicle shortly before 9:00pm in North County Dublin. In addition, searches were carried out at two residential properties and one business premises located in North County Dublin and County Louth.

During the course of the operation, Gardaí recovered £185,000 (approximately €213,000) and €48,700 in cash, along with several mobile phones.

Two men, aged in their 20s, were arrested under Section 72 of the Criminal Justice Act 2006 for allegedly facilitating money laundering activities on behalf of an organised crime group.

They are currently being held at a Dublin Garda Station under the provisions of Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.

Investigations are ongoing.
