Gardaí in Drogheda are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding a fire at a residential property on George's Street in Drogheda, Co. Louth, which occurred on Friday, 31st October 2025.
As part of this ongoing investigation, the man aged in his 20s that was arrested on 17th November, 2025 has been charged and is due to appear before Drogheda District Court, today Tuesday 18th November, 2025 within the next hour.
The second man arrested, aged in his 40s, remains in Garda custody.
Gardaí continue to appeal for information relating to this serious incident. Anyone who was in the George's Street area of Drogheda between 7.30pm and 8.20pm on Friday, 31st October 2025, or anyone with relevant information, is asked to contact Drogheda Garda Station on 041 9874200 or the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111.
