As part of Operation Tara and ongoing investigations targeting organised crime, personnel attached to the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau conducted search operations at residential addresses in the Dublin and Wicklow areas on 13th November 2025.
During the course of the operation conducted with the assistance of the Ballymun and Balbriggan Drug Units, 98 kilos of cannabis and 2 kilos of cocaine – with a combined estimated street value of €2.1 million – were seized.
Five people were arrested and are being detained at Garda stations in the Eastern region. A man in his 40s is being detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007. Three females (one on her 40s and two in their 30s) and a male in his 30s are being detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
Investigations are ongoing.
