Witness Appeal – Fatal Road Traffic Collision, Cloghan, Co. Offaly, 28th May 2025

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision on the N62 at Killeenboy, Cloghan, Co. Offaly last night, Wednesday 28th May 2025.

Gardaí and emergency services responded to the collision involving a pedestrian and a car shortly after 11pm.

The pedestrian, a man aged in his 50s, was pronounced deceased at the scene. His body was brought to Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

There were no other injuries reported.

Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are currently carrying out a technical examination of the scene and the road remains closed.

Local diversions are in place and motorists, particularly the drivers of heavy goods vehicles, are asked to travel via Tullamore, Co. Offaly.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward.   

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 10pm to 11.30pm, are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
