Witness Appeal: Dangerous Driving Incident Injuring Garda, Ardee, Co Louth - 2nd May 2025

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a dangerous driving incident in which a van was driven at a Garda in Ardee, Co Louth, on Friday, 2nd May, 2025.  

Gardaí were on patrol in the Clonmore Estate at around 4:20am and approached a van that was parked up.  

The van was driven at Gardai and hit a Garda who had exited the patrol car to investigate.  

He sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transferred to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.  

The scene has been held for a technical examination to be carried out.   Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in Clonmore Estate area between 4:00am and 4:40am are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
