Joint Operation - Gardaí and Revenue Seize €1.8m Cannabis, Man arrested in Co. Louth – 12th May 2025

As part of an intelligence-led operation, Revenue officers seized approximately 90 kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €1.8m in Co. Louth today, 12th May 2025.

This seizure was made as a result of a joint operation conducted by Revenue’s Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and Louth Divisional Drugs Unit.

Gardaí arrested one male, in his 50s, who is currently detained at a Garda Station in Co. Louth under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Drug Trafficking Act 1996.

The drugs seized will be forwarded to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis. Investigations are ongoing.
