Gardaí in Dundalk were alerted to an aggravated burglary in progress at a residential property in Carlingford, Co. Louth on the evening of Saturday 17th May, 2025 at approximately 6.45pm.
During the course of the aggravated burglary, three men entered the home of an elderly female and assaulted her. A sum of money was taken during the incident. The three men left the scene.
The injured lady was treated at the scene by ambulance personnel.
Gardaí arrested three males, all aged in their 30s close to the scene and they were taken to Garda stations in County Louth where they were detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
All three men have since been charged in connection the incident and are due to appear before Drogheda District Court tomorrow morning, Monday 19th May, 2025 at 10.30am.
