Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision on the R569 road, Church Grounds, Kilgarvan, Co. Kerry that occurred on Tuesday, 10th June 2025.
Gardaí and emergency services responded to the collision involving a vehicle and a cyclist shortly after 1:40 pm.
The cyclist, a male in his 80s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Coroner has been informed and a post-mortem examination will take place.
The road remains closed at this time pending technical examination. All drivers going to and from Kenmare need to travel via Killarney and Moll's Gap on the N71. This road is not suitable for heavy vehicle traffic.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 1pm and 2pm are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
