Operation Tara – Gardaí Seize Drugs Worth €170,000 in Co. Kerry 13th June 2025

As part of Operation Tara and ongoing investigations targeting the sale and distribution of controlled drugs and associated criminal activity in the Southern Region, Gardaí from the Kerry Divisional Drugs Unit and local Crime Unit have seized a significant quantity of drugs and arrested one male during an operation carried out in County Kerry on Friday, 13th June 2025.

Shortly after 10pm on Friday night, Gardaí intercepted a vehicle in Listowel and recovered a substantial quantity of cannabis and cocaine. The seized drugs have an estimated street value of over €170,000.

The driver of the car, a man in his 20s, was arrested at the scene. He is currently being detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at a Garda station in County Kerry.

The drugs will be sent for analysis to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI).

Investigations are ongoing and further updates will follow.
