Fatal Road Traffic Collision, Friarsquarter East, Ballinrobe, Co. Mayo, 17th June 2025

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal single-vehicle road traffic collision involving a motorcycle, on the R331 at Friarsquarter East, Ballinrobe, Co. Mayo, on Tuesday 17th June 2025.

Gardaí and emergency services responded to the collision, involving a motorcycle, that occurred shortly after 7.40pm.

The motorcyclist, a male aged in his 40’s, was pronounced deceased at the scene. His body has been conveyed to Mayo University Hospital.

The Coroner has been informed and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

The road was preserved for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, and has since reopened.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 7.30pm and 8.30pm on Tuesday 17th June 2025 are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
