Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a serious assault that occurred on Abbey Street and Barrack Street, Cahir, Co. Tipperary, in the early hours of Saturday 20th December 2025.
The incident occurred shortly after 1:40am.
A male (aged in his 20s) was treated by emergency services and conveyed to Tipperary University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The male remains in critical condition.
The scene is being preserved for a technical examination.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact them.
Any persons who were in the vicinity of Abbey Street and Barrack Street, Cahir between 1:15am and 2:00am on Saturday 20th December and who may have video footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
